Job Description

As a highly experienced Interventional Cardiologist, you will perform a full spectrum of advanced cardiac and peripheral interventions. You will utilize state-of-the-art equipment and work alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to clinical excellence. A crucial component of this role is not only clinical performance but also providing leadership and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and expertise within the cath lab.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Clinical Intervention: Perform complex and routine interventional cardiac procedures, including primary and elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), structural heart procedures (e.g., TAVR, MitraClip, ASD/PFO closure), and peripheral vascular interventions, adhering to the highest standards of safety and efficacy.

  • Consultation and Diagnosis: Provide expert cardiology consultation, interpret complex diagnostic data (e.g., angiography, IVUS, OCT), and formulate comprehensive treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and structural heart conditions.

  • Procedural Leadership: Lead the cardiac catheterization laboratory team during high-risk and complex procedures, ensuring optimal operational flow, procedural safety, and technical success.

  • Mentorship and Education: Act as a dedicated mentor to junior cardiologists, fellows, and cath lab staff, actively teaching advanced interventional techniques, diagnostic interpretation, and best clinical practices.

  • Quality Improvement: Participate actively in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within the cardiac program, focusing on outcomes, safety metrics, and streamlining procedural workflows.

  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, cardiovascular nurses, and other specialists to provide truly integrated and patient-centered care.

  • On-Call Service: Participate in the interventional cardiology on-call schedule for emergency procedures, including STEMI response.

  • Technology Adoption: Drive the adoption and integration of new, state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technologies within the interventional cardiology service.

Requirements:

  • Education and Training: Doctor of Medicine (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution. Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease, followed by a dedicated fellowship in Interventional Cardiology.

  • Certification: Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology.

  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted state medical license.

  • Experience: Significant post-fellowship experience (typically 3+ years) performing a high volume of complex coronary and structural heart procedures.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated mastery of advanced interventional techniques, including complex PCI (e.g., chronic total occlusion), rotational atherectomy, advanced imaging modalities, and structural heart interventions.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a team in a high-pressure environment, demonstrate sound clinical judgment, and effectively mentor developing professionals.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, staff, and referring physicians.

  • Commitment to Excellence: A deep respect for clinical expertise and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in patient care.

As an Interventional Cardiologist at Sidney, your seasoned expertise will be the cornerstone of our ability to deliver life-saving and innovative cardiac care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients while contributing to the professional growth of our entire team.
